haze III

There are several reasons why neuroscience was never a career option for me, but one I can name without elaborating on my incompatibility with logic and science is that I don't even want to know what happens in my brain.

Sometimes I can grow stupidly happy. Out of sudden, regardless of the fact that there is absolutely nothing to be acutely happy about right now if you're me. I have become so good at being happy about fantasies that it sometimes washes over reality like a wave of sunlight and long, golden strands of hair.
I am built in a way that allows fiction to completely consume me, and recently I have decided to stop considering it fiction in the classical, slightly derogatory sense - something unreal, detached from fact - because the emotions that a beautiful piece of someone's imagination sparks in me are real, chemical, and make no sense, yet exist. I watch movies and live them for weeks, if I love them. I see those movies before my inner eye non-stop, I hear lines, I see stills, I hear the music. I carry the feeling of said movies wherever I go, whatever I do. I become that feeling for a while. I don't remember when the last time was I had a crush, but I crush on books, films and songs all the time. If you look at yourself as a jigsaw in construction, the movies you see and love in an instant turn out to be pieces that you really, really needed when they came to you. They're my favourite ingredient in the life cocktail.

I am pretty sure I'd make a horrible neuroscientist. I am not sure what non-horrible I'd make. I am a fantasiser and an escapist. My sails of film strips - full of vast, far away horizons and dreamscapes and hazy takes on the real world - are bright and glistening, and volatile, and the real wind blows right through them, and I sort of un-become.

PS: I don't even know why I wrote this. It's banal and unhelpful, but I probably just wanted it said.

jglfhsfjkshf 2012

Yeah. So, yeah, well, this is it. This is 2012. I hope you didn't get an epileptic fit at the sight of this picture, if yes, I apologise in advance. I don't know why, since I wrote that song or poem in the last post I feel this kind of stubborn desperado-aggression inside, and I let it out with the brightest colours, the dashiest music... and I'm SO buying myself an acid wash denim jacket- that's not a resolution, that's a plan. And if I'm silly enough, I'll print this drawing on a shirt, haha.
I won't talk much about 2012 because I prefer not to remember most of it, though a few details pushed my life in a nice direction- who knows. I don't know, I just hope.

Anyway, I want to say T H A N K S guys, for checking all the weird stuff I post on here, leaving comments and compliments. I wish you a fantastic NYE party, the brightest fireworks and smiles, and successful 2013. See you next year. XX

neon life rascalities

I try so hard to figure out
what the point of all this is
and when I try to find the problem
I find myself not wanting anything

there's vacuum in my ideas
just bits and pieces building themes
too bad you'll sink and drown in daydreams
they're nothing you can swim in

everything goes right and wrong,
left and right straight into foolery

you watch them moving forward
effortlessly they're winning all
of all those things you worship
when you're on your own

that acid washed denim
and brightly coloured trainers
they only mean the universe to you
they're but a wrapping of your sad souls twin

that studded leather, nights and lights
guitars in airports, jokes
that's all you want, I know
that radiant freedom as you go

and not a single chance that you will ever
admit this youthful feeling of perfection
is hard works harvest and a moments' bliss
the jacket saves raw diamonds from detection

at heart, you are the lightest-minded, rascal urchin
to whom this planets rules and expectations seem a maze
you are the real easy- going good-for-nothing
to dreamy nowhere you want the easy way.

fancy an adventure?

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if you could do whatever you'd like to- no financial limits, no time limits, no annoying responsibilities to hinder you... absolute freedom. What a life, air in abundance, the vast ocean in front of you, if you like, wind, speed, joy, big cities, lights, traffic, sunshine... what a life.

londonesque day #1

Now I've had a look at my 1050 pictures and I decided you'll go crazy (or my internet connection does) if I upload the chosen ones in one single post, so here's day one, and later on I will post all my adventures step by step!
Our flight was at 7.20 am, so I got to the airport at about 5.00 am which sort of killed me because I had my suitcase finished around 3.00 am. But my enthusiasm won the battle, so I enjoyed the day, nevertheless.
By the way, why we (that's six students and two lecturers) went to London is that we had a seminar on contemporary British drama and we were off to watch the plays we read at uni- one play per day, but the remaining time we were free to do whatever we liked.
The first day we used to just enjoy the London atmosphere; we couldn’t check in at the hotel as we planned because they were just changing the locks (wtf?!) when we came. That’s why we were roaming around and having some Christmas coffee at Starbucks, going to Kings’ Cross to find the platform 9 ¾ and so on. I was SO incredibly happy to be back there, it felt like returning somewhere I really belong.
Later in the evening we went to watch our first play, ‘13’ by Mike Bartlett which was just amazing. If anyone of you has the chance to see it, go for it! Near the National Theatre where it has been staged there was a ‘German Christmas Market’ which we found pretty funny because they really tried to build a Christmas market like the ones that we have here in Cologne, with inscriptions like ‘gluwein’ (misspelled) and many suchlike things.
Although I was extremely tired later in the evening, when we came back to the hotel I just couldn’t sleep. I made plans for the next day and watched the night in the city of my dreams.

TO BE CONTINUED

Entering England
How I missed this!

We were getting sort of hungry, and then this...
The white building is our hotel. It wasn't as nice as it looked like, but more on this later.

Interesting... so that's what English people eat for breakfast?
Who of you immediately saw it's a postcard?

'Let's rediscover why we're bets friends' OMG I LOVE STARBUCKS!
Why the heck do they have those amazing cupcakes EVERYWHERE around town??

Topshop shoes. ...ugly?
Wonder what would happen if I ran around in them here in Cologne...

I kept it as a promise I'd come back (yes, I'm being sentimental)
It's getting late... London street next to the hotel!
View on the German Christmas Market from the bridge
Yeeeees, the merry-go-rounds... I took a ride! Will post a picture later!

This is when I finally realized I was back and was like YEEEAH
A skate park right next to the National Theatre

My dearly beloved underground, OH HOW I MISSED THEM!!
