ideas catcher, catching ideas, someday

"He had hung his jacket on the Brancusi in a way that- to his eye, at least- implied joshing familiarity rather than disrespect, and was displaying his roundedly rhomboid shape to his PA and his Ideas Catcher. There had been some earlier institutional name for this latter figure, but Sir Jack had replaced it with 'Ideas Catcher'. Someone had once compared him to a giant firework, throwing out ideas as a Catherine wheel throws out sparks, and it seemed only proper that those who pitched should have someone to catch."
Julian Barnes, England, England

Unlike Sir Jack from the novel that I'm writing one of my last term papers on, I don't have the money to employ someone to catch my ideas, and since only recently I had a marvellous idea that I have found myself to have forgotten a few hours later, I thought it would be another marvellous idea to 'employ' an empty book as my own Ideas Catcher. I'm about to turn this into a kind of project: every day I will fill one page with something, words, pictures, photos... anything really, because #1 it may help me not to forget the good ideas I have and #2 it may lead to even more good ideas. This year is gonna be hell, in every aspect (the most terrifiying of which is undoubtedly my bachelor exams this summer), so I won't have the time to focus on lots of brilliant creative things, but maybe I'll save a few of them in this book, and maybe they'll even be ready for display, someday... someday.
Watch this clip, it makes you feel nostalgic about something you never lived. Oh boys, if only I could have been the #6 in your team. Big sigh.

In many ways, they'll miss the good old days
Someday, someday
Yeah, it hurts to say, but I want you to stay
Sometimes, sometimes

When we was young, oh man, did we have fun
Always, always
Promises, they break before they're made
Sometimes, sometimes

Oh, My-ex says I'm lacking in depth
I will do my best
You say you wanna stay by my side
Darlin', your head's not right
See, alone we stand, together we fall apart
Yeah, I think I'll be alright
I'm working so I won't have to try so hard
Tables, they turn sometimes

Oh, someday...

No, I ain't wastin' no more time

And now my fears
They come to me in threes
So, I
Sometimes
Say, "Fate my friend,
You say the strangest things
I find, sometimes"

Oh, My-ex says I'm lacking in depth
Say I will try my best
You say you wanna stay by my side
Darlin', your head's not right
See, alone we stand, together we fall apart
Yeah, I think I'll be alright
I'm working so I won't have to try so hard
Tables, they turn sometimes

Oh, someday...

I ain't wasting no more time

EDIT: 10000+ page views, that's gotta be a special treat for you, very soon, very different from what I usually post... watch this space.
